Volunteer With Young People Affected by Substance Use/Anti-Social Behaviour
We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic volunteers to work with the BOOST Boys group (11 – 16yrs) on a Wednesday evening from 4.00pm-7.30pm and the Klub Girls group (11 – 16yrs) on a Thursday evening from 5.00pm-7.30pm. These groups provide on-going support for young people who are affected by substance use and/or anti-social behaviour.
The groups meet weekly during term time in the Dundee TCA building (The Wishart). The main purpose of the groups are to engage young people in positive activities while providing a safe, secure and structured environment. The young people who attend can get creative with arts and crafts, project work, youth issues or take part in playing more sedate card or board games. Other activities include Wii, local visits, out for tea, outdoor sports, some indoor activities and an annual summer programme.
The role of the Volunteers is to encourage participation in activities and take part in activities with the young people in attendance. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Team please get in touch with Fergus or Mark on 01382 456 012 or email Fergus.McCurley@alcoholtayside.com / Mark.Harris@alcoholtayside.com
The post also require access to and use of a car (ideally)
