Do you play the Drums, Ukulele or enjoy singing? Well this volunteer opportunity could be the perfect way to share your musical passion with some like minded musicians.

Gowrie Care’s Community Hub in Dundee provides music activities for enthusiasts over the age of 16 who have various disabilities and support needs. Dependent on the individuals involved, activities may include helping and encouraging service users to take part in playing the drums, Ukulele and or singing. Volunteers will assist the group leader in activities, chat to service users and make them feel welcome, undertake admin tasks such as taking register, handing out paperwork as required.

We are keen to hear from volunteers who have a love of making or appreciating music. If you can play an instrument and sing that’s even better but not essential. We would like to hear from people with have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and bring their own commitment, energy and enthusiasm to the role. Building a good rapport with service users is important on a group setting and 1:1 basis

Volunteers will be overseen by the group leader/line manager and training will be given on an on-going basis, depending on the needs of individual volunteers. Initial inductions are given and then any training required would be planned through discussion with group leader/line manager.

This opportunity takes place on Wednesdays at 17B Scott Court,  Dundee with good public transport. Travel expenses are reimbursed.

Gowrie Care have attained our Volunteer Friendly Award and so you should have a great experience volunteering with them.
