Following on from the hugely popular ‘Introduction to Dementia’ training courses that were held over the last year, Age Scotland are now currently researching and developing a Dementia Friendly Communities Toolkit and are looking for the views of older people and organisations who work with older people. The toolkit will include examples of best practice and will help communities to become age and dementia friendly.

The ‘Your age and dementia friendly’ focus groups are being held in DVA, Number Ten, 10 Constitution Road, DD1 1LL on:

Thursday 5th July at 2pm and repeated on Monday 9th July at 2pm.

Participants will be asked, what makes up an age/ dementia friendly community based on the initial desk based research. You will be asked to tell us what works and what doesn’t work in your community and how important it is to you. Participating groups will be recognised in the toolkit for having given your views.

We would very much value your opinion, so please email or call Nicola on 01382 305745 to let her know which date if any you can attend?

If you are unable to attend but have anything that you would like to be considered, then please do get in touch. I have asked for the questions, so will circulate these as soon as they received as I would very much welcome your views.
