B1 Step Ahead
Under 25 and want to B 1 Step Ahead?
In Dundee we have loads of young people who are getting involved in Volunteering and are doing all sorts of things from helping out at youth clubs to organising music gigs. We know that young people are just as likely to want to get involved and do something worthwhile as anyone else.
What’s in it for you?
Volunteering can lead on to other things or help you to decide what job you might want to do in the future. It could also help you to get you that place at College or University and really put you a step ahead of the competition.
By Volunteering you can get experience to add to your CV, gain awards and recognition, have fun, help others, make new friends and do something new. It’s a great way to get out the house and do something worthwhile.
How much time does it take?
On average volunteers do up to 2 hours a week but it is really up to you. What does it cost? Taking part is free and you are usually provided with training and travel costs. Volunteering does not affect any benefits.
MV Awards
Young people can get awards for their volunteering through the MV Award Scheme. MV Awards are available for 50, 100 and 200 hours of volunteering and it’s free! More information on our MV page.
Check out the new MV Volunteering Passport website where you can find suitable opportunities and register to use the online MV portfolio.
