The nominations are in for the most inspiring young volunteers across Dundee and youth friendly organisations. Can you help us decide upon the winners? We need young people to take part in the awards panels that decide on the winners for each category: Saltire Summit Award, Young Team Award and Youth Friendly Organisation. You will take part with other youth ambassadors to decide upon the finalists and winners of each category. The finalists are then invited to the Youth Volunteering Awards night in November. There is ongoing opportunities to take part in other Youth Ambassador activities.

Are you aged 12-25 and currently volunteering in Dundee? Then we would like to hear from you. This can be a one off opportunity or you could continue to support Volunteer Dundee’s Youth Ambassador activities including promoting and inspiring volunteering with other young people across Dundee, taking part in helping to organise the annual Youth Volunteering Awards and other events we are planning for 2018’s Year of the Young People.

It’s a great opportunity to develop your skills, take part in decision making processes and to work as part of a team with other young people. Here’s what one of our Youth Ambassadors said about their experience volunteering with us:

“It helped increase confidence, especially when talking to new people and putting my own ideas out there. Made me get more used to working in a group and feel more comfortable rather than working as an individual. It has also helped to develop my time keeping, organisational skills as well as better communication skills. It helped push me into taking an opportunity for another job and going outside of my comfort zone.” Youth Ambassador 2015-2017
