Redistributing Food to those Facing Hardship
Transform Community Development takes unwanted food which would otherwise go to waste and redistributes it to non-profit organisations who then provide meals for those facing food poverty, social isolation or other hardship.
Transform are currently recruiting for more volunteers. They need a Delivery Driver, Delivery Assistant, Warehouse Assistant, and a Mentor.
Delivery Driver – A full, UK driving Licence and a few hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays is required in addition to a willingness to make a real difference to a project that is so important to so many.
Delivery Assistant – Working as part of a team, the van crew load and unload crated food to local community food members. You would need to be reasonably fit and able bodied and can give a few hours each week.
Warehouse Assistant – You would carry out basic warehousing by checking and sorting food prior to picking orders for delivery. If you are reasonably fit and able bodied you are just the person.
Mentors – Transform need Mentors who can give a few hours to help other volunteers with support needs. If you have patience, good people skills and the desire to support others with minor needs to achieve the above tasks then get involved and help others to get involved socially.
