Volunteer Dundee’s annual Youth Volunteering Awards were held on Thursday 16th November at Abertay Student Centre. The evening recognised the outstanding contributions of young volunteers and youth friendly organisations to volunteering in Dundee.

The evening saw the presentation of:

8 Saltire Summit Awards were presented by Elaine Milne of Elaine Milne Management to Alyssia Smith (Link Up Whitfield), Sophie Dolan (Link Up Whitfield), Fraser Rennie (Dundee Madsons Basketball Club), Halima Kolo (Yusuf Youth Initiative), Nicholas Monteath (Police Scotland Youth Volunteers), Kristopher Stevenson (Dundee Museum of Transport), Daria Lewandowska (Dundee International Womens Centre) and Abbie MacLean (Grove Academy)

The Youth Volunteering Team Award was also presented by Ian Borthwick, the Lord Provost, to the winners
Taught By Muhammad team (Yusuf Youth Initaitive) with the Dundee Madsons Young Coaches (Dundee Madsons Basketball Club) and Uneeklinx Dance Group (Link Up Whitfield) as runners up.

The Youth Friendly Organisation was also presented on the evening by Eric Knox, Chief Executive of Volunteer Dundee, to the winners Police Scotland Youth Volunteers Dundee with Boomerang Community Centre and Link Up Whitfield as finalists for the Awards.

The evening was hosted by Chelsea Cameron, Young Scot and Young Hero of the Year, with Ciaran Donnelly providing musical entertainment. The evening was a massive success and enjoyed by all who attended. Congratulations again to all of the award winners and finalists!
