Discover your city as the sun sets and help people living with cancer
Maggie’s Culture Crawl Dundee, Friday August 30

Maggie’s, the charity which provides free practical and emotional support for people living with cancer, is encouraging everyone across Dundee, Angus and Perth to walk together for an evening of fun, food and culture, all to help people living with cancer.

Maggie’s Culture Crawl Dundee launches for the first year on Friday 30 August. The event gives participants a chance to see the city of Dundee in a new light as they walk 10 kilometres and get exclusive night-time access to some of the city’s best culture. Venues confirmed for this years walk include Dundee Contemporary Arts, Verdant Works and Logie & St John’s Cross Parish Church.

As the number of people living with cancer increases it is essential that they are able to find the practical and emotional support they need to cope with the changes that life after cancer brings. Maggie’s Dundee offers a way of living well with cancer. This includes ensuring that people with cancer in the region are really listened to, that they are offered tailored individual support, group support and practical advice, all delivered by qualified professionals within a space that enables them to meet other people who understand what it means to be living with cancer too.

All of the money raised through Maggie’s Culture Crawl Dundee will help ensure the Centre continues to provide free, professional support to all those living with cancer who need it across the region.

Lesley Howells, Centre Head of Maggie’s Dundee, who will be attending the event, said: “This is Dundee’s night walk for cancer support and we need everyone to join us so that people with cancer get the support they need. As a charity Maggie’s Dundee relies on donations to continue to develop our unique, high quality programme of support. I really hope the local community gets behind the event to help us support as many people living with cancer, as well as their family and friends, across Dundee, Angus & Perth”

Pauline, who has taken part in three of Maggie’s Culture Crawls in Glasgow said “These are a great way to raise funds and awareness for the Maggie’s centres while having a great night out with your friends.”

Maggie’s has a network of Centres across the UK and 14 Culture Crawls will be happening up and down the country in June, August and September with the aim to raise over £600,000 to help support people living with cancer.

Registration for the event is £25 and participants are asked to raise a minimum of £100. A fundraising pack full of ideas to make sure each walker reaches their target will be available from Maggie’s Dundee or online. An early bird rate of £20 is available for a limited time.

All Maggie’s Culture Crawl walkers will get a free t-shirt and medal. Find out more and sign-up at www.maggiescentres.org/culturecrawl
